Christmas Cookie Exchange

Christmas Cookie Exchange (2)

Hosting or participating in a Christmas Cookie Exchange is a fabulous way to spend time with friends and get all of your holiday baking all done in one shot!  This was the first year that I hosted a Christmas Cookie Exchange of my own and it was so much FUN!!  This will certainly be an annual event at our house.

We had thirteen bakers sign up {with a wait list even} so each participant was asked to bake 13 dozen of their absolute favorite Holiday Cookie.  Then we all swapped cookies to leave with one dozen of each variety of cookie.  I planned the event for the end of November so that we were not too busy with Christmas preparations yet and so that we all had cookies to share at our various parties and gatherings throughout December.  Here is a wonderful how to host a Holiday cookie exchange post from Somewhat Simple and another how to host a cookie party post from Cookies and Cups that have loads of inspiration and tips if you are interested in starting a Christmas Cookie Exchange of your own!
I made these Pistachio, Cranberry and White Chocolate Shortbread cookies while my good friend Amy made these to die for Candy Cane Brownie Blossom cookies and my sister made our Danger ~ Cracker Toffee recipe.  Each baker brought something different so we had LOADS of fabulously delicious baking for the Holiday Season all done!!  Whoop Whoop!

I like to divide and mix up the baking into several different container/bags so that when we have a gathering I can just grab a bag to create a very festive looking plate of goodies!  So tell me, have you participated in a cookie exchange?  How was it?  What did you make?
