Fruit Puree and Green Smoothie Popsicles

Fruit Puree Popsicles

My boys must be going through some kind of growth spurt.  A minute after we feed them they declare, “I’m hungry!”  And they are waking up all kinds of early ~ hungry!  Far too early for this momma!  They remind me of little chirpy birdies ~ it would be cute if it wasn’t so annoying. Ha!

So I am constantly looking for healthy things to feed them.  I try to refrain from too much packaged and processed stuff {although they certainly get that too}.  These Fruit Puree and Green Smoothie popsicles are the perfect solution, especially as the weather heats up.

The boys and I just pureed some of what we had laying around the house.  We used our regular old blender which worked like a champ.  I had to add some water to the fruit as we were blending but that was it.  We made strawberry puree, peach puree, pineapple puree and a green smoothie {using this recipe}.

I bought a new popsicle tray the last time I went grocery shopping with these Fruit Puree popsicles in mind.  Our last tray was missing half of the tops ~ tell me it’s not just us?!

We filled our tray with our fruit and green smoothie puree.

And stuck it in the freezer overnight.

They turned out really, really good!  I will be doing this all spring/summer guaranteed.  And the boys thought that they were “treats” which was a bonus because they are always asking for treats, dessert or slurpees.

Cameron loved the red strawberry one of course.

Isaiah’s favorite was the green smoothie one.
I really enjoyed the pineapple myself.
The possibilities are endless.
We can’t wait to make more!

Enjoy!

I got a Zoku quick pop maker with birthday money this year and I actually started a Popsicles board on Pinterest. I just had to add this post to my board! I can’t wait to try out your green smoothie popsicle recipe! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
