Super Cute T-Shirt Refashion

Hi! I’m glad you’ve stopped by! I have a super cute project to share with you…

This t-shirt has been on my “to do” list for awhile. Lucky for me Cheri is hosting Refashionista Week over at I Am Momma ~ Hear Me Roar. There is just so much inspiration over there… that it would be hard NOT to break out the sewing machine!

So here’s the cute top. My sister-in-law asked me if I could do anything with it. Back in June.

This was the problem. Stains. Real, tried everything, stains.

So I sketched this petal perfect flower…

{from a flower image found on flicker}

and found some coordinating fabric. Too small PJs. Perfect. πŸ˜›

Using a reverse applique technique, I sewed my patterned fabric to the t-shirt.

You can find more examples of this technique here and here.

Super cute flower. Check.

One super cute t-shirt off of the “to do” list. Check.

Hooking up with Refashionista Week. Check.

Check it out!

I love this shirt. I have done a similar reverse applique shirt and it is one of my favorites. I really like the pattern on the onesie, too. I will have to think along the lines of patterns next time. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome! I love doing reverse applique’s but have yet to venture out of the box I’m in with it (just doing it on my daughter’s stuff). This turned out so cool that I might just have to try it on something of mine. Oh yeah!

Found you from Mommas Kinda Crafty. I like your style and am a new follower. Come check out LBT when you get a chance and maybe follow back. I’m kinda new to the blog world and would totally love to make some new friends. You’re just the kind of crafty chick I dig. THX!!!

Adorable!!! I think I might be scared of my sewing machine.. it gives me dirty looks when I walk past it. I think it likes being tucked in the corner of the craft room. I might have to break it free for this. Following you.. hope you come for a visit and follow me.

Absolutely fantastic!Great use of old clothes.

I would love if you came and linked this project to my clothes upcycling page. It has a long term linky, so your project would stay there for more than just the week of a usual linky. We have over 60 projects linked up now – some fantastic ideas – and this month I’m upcycling lots of clothes and trying to feature lots of the links too!
Do come and take a look!
