These DIY Travel Kit ideas are a very easy way to keep the kids active and busy during a road trip.  Here are some things that you will need to create a kit of your own. Feel free to come up with your own travel kit ideas using these awesome jewelry containers!

DIY-Travel-Kit-for-Kids-Crafts-Unleashed-2Step One. Fill two of the containers with various craft supplies.  My kids love beading and creating necklaces and bracelets.  Threading beads onto string is a great boredom buster activity for long road trips!  Tip: be sure to have children do this activity with a travel tray or lap blanket so that any fallen beads are easily captured.  My kids are eight so beading is perfect for them but for younger children try adding foam stickers and popsicle sticks to these containers.

Use one of the containers for a travel scavenger hunt!  Give the kids a list of items to find at each rest stop to collect in their containers.  Ideas: rocks, sticks, leaves, flowers, grass, seed pods etc.  This allows them to look forward to each stop and have something to do while stretching their legs.

DIY-Travel-Kit-for-Kids-Crafts-Unleashed-5A little bit of pre-planning can make all the difference when traveling with kids.  Creating a DIY travel kit is perfect for keeping the littles active and busy during your upcoming road trip!  We’re headed to the Zoo and Museum this spring break.  Do you have any travel plans this spring?
