Wooden Chalkboard Pumpkin Tutorial

Wooden Chalkboard PumpkinI love chalkboards because they allow me to customize my decor.  Our large framed chalkboard in the living room always has an inspirational phrase or quote written on it to inspire our day.  Sometimes a black or colored chalkboard doesn’t suit the space so I have been on the hunt for a different option.  I found one while at Michaels the other day…

Begin by painting an image onto the wooden plaque.  I love this simple pumpkin sketch for fall.

This is what the Chalk Anything paint looks like.  I found it in the paint aisle at Michaels and used my 40% off coupon #score.

Paint the chalk anything over the image.  Be sure to use smooth, even paint brush strokes or consider using a sponge brush.

Allow the chalk sealer to dry for at least 24 hours before seasoning the plaque by rubbing chalk over the entire image and then wiping it off.
