I have the cutest Canada Day T-shirts for you today.
I am super excited to share the tutorial as well as a ton of other Patriotic Ideas this week ~ just in time for Canada Day and the Fourth of July.
For Canada Day this year I created these Pocket T-shirts for the boys. More pocket inspiration can be found here and here.
Cameron asked me while I was editing this “where’s my head?”
I started with this sketch {who am I kidding ~ it’s more of a doodle really}.
Then I cut this pocket shape out of red knit fabric. Totally easy, no hemming, lining or inverting was involved.
I just sewed it straight onto my t-shirt {have I mentioned that I’m a lazy sewer?}
Here I traced my leaf shape onto my t-shirt.
Then I pulled out my Tulip Fabric Markers {love them!}
And started printing {free-hand} words associated with Canada.
Line 1. moose bear beaver
Line 2. OH CANADA WE STAND ON GUARD FOR THEE etc.
Line 3. hiking camping hockey fishing
Line 4. QUEBEC MANITOBA BRITISH COLUMBIA ALBERTA etc.
Honestly if I had left out hockey, half the population of BC would disown me right now.
Go Canucks Go!
It looks like a leaf right?
The cutest saying eh?
So I freezer paper stenciled it on to my pocket and painted it with
Tulip Fabric Paint.
And now for the photo shoot:

There are their cute little noggins!
Cameron requested a photo with puppy {just ignore the detached retina}.
Thanks for swinging by.
