DIY Clothing Labels

Creating my own clothing labels is something that I have been meaning to do for a long time.
Most importantly so that the boys know which way to put on the things that I make for them – these Anywhere Shorts for example.

All you need to create your own labels is: twill tape {found in the notions section of your fabric store}, permanent ink {like this StazOn found at Michaels} and stamps.

I used this dragonfly stamp that I have had for years and a few number stamps to create sizes for the Ruffle Dresses that mom and I have been making.

Simply apply the StazOn ink to your image and stamp it directly onto the twill tape.  No heat setting or ironing needed.  The image becomes permanent right away.  The neat thing is that the sky is the limit ~ you can pretty much create any kind of label you want with whatever stamps you have.

While sewing labels on to our dresses I was a little giddy.  Its a very cool feeling to put your “stamp” on the clothing that you make.

Thanks for swinging by ~ be sure to check in for more ruffle dresses this week!
