DIY Holiday Kitchen Vignette

DIY Holiday Kitchen Vignette
We have a center island in our kitchen that is often hard to decorate.
Add black counter tops and to the ceiling cupboards and our kitchen can be sadly lacking in Christmas spirit.
Except when we bring out the spirits for our annual Christmas Party *wink*

DIY Holiday Kitchen Vignette

So this year I decided to put a little more effort into our kitchen decor.  I came up with this fun vignette using only things around the yard and found in my Christmas stash.

This white ceramic jug and wire basket are often used in our spring displays but I made them more festive simply by adding ribbon, peppermint kisses and a felt tree.

The boys and I went out into the yard to do a little bit of pruning.  Then I took the branches and stuck them into some floral foam at the bottom of the jug.  Finally I topped that with a bit of artificial snow that had been sitting in one of our Christmas bins forever.

I also changed our jar of fall acorns to a jar of cinnamon sticks!  I can’t get enough of the smell of cinnamon around the holidays.  Yummy.

And finally we hung a few little felt ornaments from our branches.  I am super happy to have a bit of holiday decor in the kitchen finally.  How do you decorate your kitchen for the holidays?  Help a girl out…
