Hello friends! I have the most exciting news! The Gilmore Girls are baaaaack and on Netflix! My sister and I had a girls night last Saturday to watch the premiere of Gilmore girls: A Year in the Life. We ordered sushi, gathered the snacks (Pop Tarts included) and caught up with Rory and Lorelai.
Can I be the first to say that after nearly ten years away it appears that not a single one of these characters have aged! They all look so great, I’m jealous! My sister and I also loved that they brought so many of the original actors back and even had a cameo with Rachael Ray.
This series features four episodes that cover four seasons; Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. It brought back the quintessential banter between Rory, Lorelai, Luke and Lorelai’s mother, Emily. It’s such a great representation of the normal ups and downs of life. I especially love the dynamic between Lorelai and her mother and just how REAL that is for many of us who may struggle to connect with loved ones. Watching Gilmore girls: A Year in the Life was as if time stood still and we were right back at Luke’s Diner.
This is a great series for mothers and daughters! Here are some of the Canadian stats:
· 61% of mothers and daughters feel sharing TV shows with each other helps them build a stronger relationship
· A recent survey revealed that almost half of women (45%) wish they spoke to their mother more often
· More than half of mother-daughter duos surveyed (54%) report post-show discussions are the best part of sharing a show together
· Almost half of moms and daughters (45%) think watching together brings them closer
Be sure to check out Gilmore girls: A Year in the Life on Netflix, I promise that you won’t be disappointed! Make it a girls night… the sushi was amazing *wink*.
