I have been to our local dollar store a lot recently because I was working on creating this Elf Movie Gift Idea for my annual Elf party this year. A couple of the mugs that I had bought broke when I accidentally knocked them off of the counter in the process of crafting with them. When I went to the store to pick up more mugs I spotted this fun green one (love this colour) and immediately knew that I needed to make a Grinch mug!
I mean, seriously! How cute is this mug?! And it was totally easy to make.
How to create a Grinch mug:
Start by downloading a Grinch image to your cutting software. I used a Silhouette cutting machine to cut the image out of adhesive vinyl. Simply grab a Grinch image that you like, trace it with your software and have the machine cut it out of black vinyl. It you want to use a cut file for this project instead you could use this Grinch SVG from Cheryl at That’s What Che Said. Or even simply sketch the image onto the mug with a paint pen!
I used yellow puff paint to colour in the Grinch’s eyes. The bright yellow adds a pop of personality to this project I think. You could use a yellow paint pen, yellow vinyl or yellow acrylic paint and a brush to fill in the eyes instead. Now all that’s left to do is fill the mug with goodies!

I found clear cellophane and embellishments at the dollar store. These mugs were only $1 so filled with candy and wrapped this gift costs no more than $5. It would make the perfect friend or teacher gift.
