On top of blogging I have a unique small business called Ya Ya Monster Dolls where I create all sorts of Monster related gifts.  Check out the tutorial for how to make this Monster Embroidery Hoop.  Once you have a cute little monster hoop let me show you how to embellish it with a fun word or sentiment.

You will need:
Cotton fabric stretched out onto an embroidery hoop
Embroidery floss/thread
Needle with a large, skinny eye

Begin by sketching the word onto the fabric in pencil or chalk.  I chose “hello” for this Monster Embroidery Hoop Art.

Thread the needle and tie a knot in the end.  Start your stitches at one end of the word and work your way to the other end.

Create a stitch.

Now poke the needle back through the material about a stitch length away from the first stitch.

Double back and finish the stitch in the same spot where the first stitch ended.

Repeat this process…

until all of the letters are complete.

The back of the hoop should look something like this.
