Quilted Pillow Tutorial and GIVEAWAY

Hey peeps!
It’s my Bloggin’ Birthday!!!
{I got the best surprise for my B-day ~ a win in the Lets Hear It For The Boys contest ~ check out my post here.}

I have had a lot of fun meandering through the world of blogging.  I began strictly as a Paper Craft Blog, opened up shop as a Party Blog and would now consider myself a Momma Blogger.

Sharing life with twins ~ all of the crafts, recipes and events along the way.
*** Giveaway Now Closed***
Thank you so much for joining me!  It’s a pleasure having you.
In celebration I am sharing with you this Quilted Pillow Tutorial and…
Giving. The Pillow. Away!

That’s right my friends, you will have a chance to win this
gorgeous, hand crafted pillow!
But first a tutorial
{that you’re sure not to need because you’re planning on winning right?}
You’ll start by cutting three strips of fabric 60″ by 2 1/2″ and sewing them together length wise using a 1/4″ seam.

Once sewn you will iron the fabric and press the seams to lie flat.
Then cut your fabric into 6 1/2″ squares.
A quilting square can be helpful for this step but not necessary.
You should have 9 squares of fabric.  Lay them out on your surface until you find a pattern that you like.  Here I was attempting to imitate a Chevron Pattern.
When you are happy with your layout start sewing your squares together using a 1/4″ seam.
First you will sew column 1 together, then column 2 and finally column 3 {along the dashed lines}.
Then sew the three columns together {along the dotted lines}.
Here I have pressed my seams and am sewing a 1/4″ seam.
When your pillow front is completed it should look like this and measure approximately 18 1/2″ square.  Attach to a 18 1/2″ backing using a 1/4″ seam and fill with a pillow form or stuffing.

Now who wants to skip the sewing step completely?

Here’s how you can enter:
1. Become an official follower of Dragonfly Designs…just click that little ‘follow’ button on the upper left side of my blog. Then leave me a comment saying you did!! If you’re a follower already just leave a comment ~ and you rock!
2. Become a fan of my Facebook Page. Simply click the ‘like’ button at the top of the page. Come back here and leave another comment saying you did or that you already have!
3. One more chance to win: Blog or post about this Fabulous Giveaway! Leave a comment with a link to your post for another entry.
That’s THREE chances to win you guys!
For the ease of shipping the winner will receive this as a pillow case and simply need to insert a pillow form.

This Giveaway will end Tuesday April 6th.
Good luck and have fun!
