Painted Wooden Easter Eggs

These painted wooden Easter eggs are simply lovely and totally easy to create! Add a fun pop of pattern and texture to your spring decor this year.

Painted Wooden Easter Eggs

I love decorating for Easter in a simple, classic way.  With decor that can be left out for a while because, lets face it, I am not the quickest on the whole decorate for each season kind of thing.

Too busy to make these right away? Pin them for later! Pin this project to your favorite craft board on Pinterest and it will be waiting there when you’re ready.

I am excited to share these super easy wooden eggs with you because they can totally be created in under ten minutes!  All you need is a few craft supplies from Michaels or the dollar store to get started.

The key to making this Easter egg craft is finding these wooden egg blanks. I have seen them at Michaels or you can purchase these unfinished wooden eggs in a 20 pack from Amazon.

Alternatively you could use egg shaped decoupaged with craft paper or paper mache eggs for the same effect. What I love so much about these is the neutral color palette which can be achieved in a variety of ways!

Directions:

1. Shake the paint pen well and test it out on a scrap piece of paper to make sure that the paint is coating the tip of the pen.

2. Paint a design onto the wooden egg using the white paint pen. You may have to go over your design more than once to reach a crisp white color.

3. Cover in mod podge if desired.

Painters pens like the ones used in this Boho Ornament would also work for this project! I like to use paint pens because I find that they are easier to control and draw straight lines with than a paint brush.

Of course a fine tip paint brush and white acrylic paint would work to paint a design on these eggs as well. The sky really is the limit in terms of color and design!

Here are a few of the wooden egg designs that I created.  I love, love, love how easy these are to make.

While the kids are dying Easter eggs in the next few weeks why not create a few wooden eggs of your own to add to your home decor?  The wood is a wonderful neutral palate that makes these very versatile.
